Masteller earned her bachelor's degree in 2012 from Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. Originally, she planned to become a physician's
assistant and majored in health science, but an exercise physiology course piqued her interest. She became an avid gym-goer and began applying concepts
she learned in the classroom to her own training.
After conducting research in the exercise physiology laboratory at Lock Haven, she decided to change career paths and earn a master's degree in
exercise science from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. Masteller is currently a Ph.D. candidate studying child and adolescent physical activity
and health in the kinesiology department at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Brittany's other passion is competitive bodybuilding. She began competing in 2015 and earned professional status as a figure competitor with the
World Natural Bodybuilding Federation in 2016.
